Family, friends, and the Fairfield, Illinois, community are mourning the loss of Tyler Mason, who passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the age of 27 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him, as they remember a young man whose radiant smile and joyful spirit brightened every room he entered.
Born on April 15, 1999, in Evansville, Indiana, Tyler was the cherished son of Stephen and Trisha (Stennett) Mason. Throughout his life, Tyler faced physical challenges with remarkable strength and determination, never allowing his disability to define him. Together with the unwavering support of his family, he embraced life with enthusiasm, courage, and a genuine appreciation for every moment.
Tyler attended Brownsville School, where he formed lasting friendships and touched the lives of classmates, teachers, and caregivers alike. He found joy in traveling, especially family cruises and adventures to new places, and loved cheering on his brothers at their sporting events before proudly visiting them during their college years.
Music, fireworks, nature, and sunny days by the pool were among Tyler’s greatest pleasures. He delighted in listening to birds sing, spending time outdoors, and sharing unforgettable moments with those closest to him. Those who knew Tyler often spoke of his infectious smile, gentle heart, and ability to bring happiness to everyone around him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Steve and Trisha Mason; brothers, Trenton and Trey Mason; grandparents, Delores Mason, Gregory Max and Anita Tipps, and Marsha Stennett; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Tyler was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ron Mason and Lonnie Stennett.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Tyler Mason’s legacy of love, resilience, and joy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
