Residents of Altona North, Victoria, were awakened by gunfire early Thursday morning after a home on Seventh Avenue was targeted in a shooting that has led to the arrest of three people.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m., when it is believed multiple shots were fired into the front of a residential property. Several occupants were inside the home at the time of the shooting and were asleep when the gunfire erupted.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, with all occupants escaping physical harm despite the dangerous nature of the attack.
Police immediately responded to the scene and conducted a search of the surrounding area in an effort to locate those responsible. Although the initial search did not identify any suspects, officers later arrested three individuals in Craigieburn in connection with the investigation.
Authorities confirmed that the three people are expected to be interviewed regarding their alleged involvement in the shooting. At this stage, police have not released their identities or announced any charges.
Investigators continue working to determine the motive behind the attack and whether the property or its occupants were specifically targeted. Detectives are examining evidence gathered from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
