Family, friends, and the Chino Hills, California, community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Shukur Aikebaer, a devoted husband and loving father whose life was tragically cut short following a violent kidnapping that has shocked Southern California.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded Wednesday evening to reports of gunshots and screams at a residence in the 2100 block of Monteverde Drive in Chino Hills. Investigators allege that the suspects intentionally disrupted the home’s power supply before confronting Aikebaer when he went outside to inspect the electrical panel. Authorities say he was shot and forcibly abducted from the property.
The suspects were later identified as Zhengfeng Bo, 67, and Jianquan Bo, 66, both of Irvine. Investigators stated that Aikebaer and one of the suspects reportedly had a previous working relationship.
Following the reported kidnapping, law enforcement located the suspects’ vehicle and initiated a pursuit that ended near Monteverde Drive. Authorities said Jianquan Bo surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody. However, investigators allege that Zhengfeng Bo exited the vehicle, approached the trunk, and fired into it. A deputy then discharged his weapon, fatally striking the suspect.
When deputies opened the trunk, they discovered Shukur Aikebaer suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced deceased.
The tragedy has devastated Aikebaer’s family and loved ones. A fundraiser established in his memory describes him as a devoted husband and dedicated father whose greatest joy in life was caring for his three daughters. Friends and family remember him as a hardworking, compassionate man whose love for his family defined everything he did.
Following the incident, investigators executed a search warrant at an Irvine residence as part of the ongoing investigation. Jianquan Bo was arrested on allegations including murder and kidnapping and remains in custody without bail while the case proceeds through the legal system.
